A campfire great from my childhood in Norway!

500g plain flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

5 tablespoons sugar

1 cup vegetable oil

2 dl lukewarm water

Mix the dry ingredients, then add oil and water till the dough has a plasticine consistency. Form a lump of dough into a roll and twist it around a green stick (with bark whittled away). Bake bread over campfire till cooked through.

Cowboy Coffee

Can be made in a pot or mug just be careful to let the coffee grains settle properly before you drink it!

Put a pot on the stove or campfire. Once the water boils, remove from the heat and spoon in ground coffee (a heaped spoon or two depending on taste). Gently agitate the pot so that the grains all get wet. Then be patient. After about 5 mins the grains will have settled and you can enjoy fresh coffee with minimum kit or faff.
